It has been 6 months since we launched Sneaky Mommies, and WOW, has it ever been an amazing journey so far. We came into this whole blogging world having no clue of what to expect (like literally, no clue!). The learning curve has been steep, but all of the work, sweat and grit that we have put into Sneaky Mommies has reaffirmed our passion for food and why we continue to do this.
Most importantly, we do this for YOU, our readers and followers. So THANK YOU, thank you, thank you for your undivided support, for your comments, likes, messages and for reading along every week. It means the world to us that you take the time to reach out to us and let us know how we are doing and for following along on our journey. Thank you!
In January, when Sneaky Mommies first launched we had set some short term (6 and 12 month) goals for ourselves of where we would like to be and what we wanted to tick off our very, very long to do list. To say the least, what we have been able to accomplish and the incredible connections that we have made has been pretty unreal.
We collaborated with MomResource, an online resource for parents across Canada, where we create an exclusive recipe for them each month and our most popular recipes are featured on their site. Just last month we attended a food photography workshop hosted by Jeff Chan and Irene Matys from The Spicy Olive where we spent the day together at Plan B Organic Farms, learning the in’s and out’s of food photography, cooking an incredible meal together along with some fellow bloggers and of course photographing everything.
In addition to connections, our recipes and photo’s have been featured on Canadian Food Bloggers roundups including the Canada 150 Roundup for our Maple Butter Pecan Tart and the Hidden Veggie Recipe Roundup for our Pasta Bolognese with 7 Sneaky Veggies . In addition, Nicole’s orange glazed cake made it into the pages of Fine Cooking Magazine in the June/July 2017 issue.
Having a whole slew of our images accepted into FoodGawker and Tastespotting, has definitely confirmed that we are doing something right from a photography perspective, so that’s been pretty incredible to see.
Now in terms of actual social and website stats, we certainly still have a long way to go to get to where we want to be, but so far we are quite happy with the results.
When you find something that you are truly passionate about and it feels less like work, and more like a strong desire to constantly wanting to improve and do better, then you know that its ‘the thing’ you should be doing. For the both of us, sharing our recipes, trying to help alleviate the stress of meal time planning and creating recipes that sneak healthy ingredients, is definitely what drives us.
Just recently we launched Sneaky Sundays, an initiative geared toward bringing it back to the basics and sharing healthy, kid friendly recipes that sneak ingredients into meals with a new recipe launching every Sunday. We have more of these type of initiatives planned, tons more recipes that we can hardly wait to share and so much more.
So thank you once again for following along on our journey. We can hardly wait to see what milestones we will reach for our 1 year anniversary.
